Astym®/Graston Technique®
Astym® therapy and the Graston Technique® are specialized processes of soft-tissue mobilization which stimulate the body’s own regenerative healing processes. Use of these techniques and specialty tools requires advanced training and credentials, which RehabOne’s therapists have successfully obtained for the benefit of our patients.
Functional Dry Needling
Functional Dry Needling (FDN) is a treatment for areas of localized muscular tightness and spasm, which commonly follows injuries and often accompanies the degenerative processes. This muscular tightness and spasm can cause compression and irritation of the nerves exiting the spine and can also cause pain and irritation within the various muscle groups of the extremities. Small, thin needles are inserted in the muscles at the trigger points causing the pain referral. The muscles then contract and release, improving flexibility of the muscle and decreasing symptoms.
Kinesio® Taping
The Kinesio® Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. Latex-free and wearable for days at a time, Kinesio® Tex Tape is safe for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions. This therapeutic taping technique offers support while rehabilitating the affected condition. The Kinesio® Tex Tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting effect forms convolutions in the skin, thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas.
Kinesio® Tex Tape is used to
- Re-educate the neuromuscular system
- Reduce pain
- Optimize performance
- Prevent injury
- Promote improved circulation and healing
